Saab Sonett 1956/57, bil nummer tre av de sex som byggdes, med Monica och Gösta Jakfors. Det gjordes bara sex Saab Sonett. En av dem har haft samma ägare i femtio år. Det var 1964 som en ung pojkspoling fick köpa sin drömbil. En sån som varje ung man på den tiden drömde om, en öppen fartigt knallröd sportbil. En Saab Sonett.

Featuring a three-cylinder 748 cc two-stroke engine generating 57.5 horsepower (42.9 kW) and a 70 kilograms (150 lb) aluminium box-style chassis from Swedish designer Sixten Sason , the Sonett I was an advanced low-weight 600 kg (1,323 lb) racer based on aircraft Sonett I. 16 mars 1956 visades Saab Sonett Super Sport (Saab 94, senare Sonett I) på Stockholms bilsalong.Endast sex exemplar tillverkades. Saabs motoringenjör och tävlingsförare Rolf Mellde började på egen hand skissa på projektet hösten 1955 med avsikt att ta fram en liten lätt tävlingsvagn. Saab debuted the Super Sport Sonett at the 1956 Stockholm Motorcar Show. It was to be a high performance, low drag two-seater based on aircraft design principals. Because of the high cost, only six examples of the first series Sonett (known as the 94) were ever built.
